'An Argument With Gravity' poem by Pam Boyd

AN  ARGUMENT  WITH  GRAVITY

Still defiantly committed to your rules, I see 😠

  Reliable to a fault - sure -

But oh, so irresponsible -

Your past is besmirched with countless reports

Of wreckage and havoc !!

I concede, you have your uses -

Ironically, there are those who consider you

Essential to their existence😲

You possess a certain

Forcefulness of character 🤔

Like Cupid, you cause bodies to attract

And, despite your invisibility

You do have a grounding effect on people -

But I dislike your rigidity

And I suspect you're on the Spectrum !

I, along with quite a few prominent scientists,

Still question your principles -

When they eventually crack your code

I hope they revise it drastically !

Oh, darn it all, gravity !

I really liked that vase !

Why can't you be a rebel, once in a while ?!!”
